Program Quality Criteria

The educational standards of our department are structured within the framework of the following criteria, based on national and international quality assurance principles.

Program Educational Objectives
  1. Graduates can work as managers, researchers and experts in public administration, private sector and non-governmental organizations with the ability to analyze, report and produce solutions to political and administrative problems in the light of universal ethical values, scientific methods and critical perspective,
  2. They can work as public servants in foreign relations, public relations, human resources, project development, strategy/budget units of public administrations under central government and local administrations,
  3. They can work as inspectors, auditors, controllers, managers and experts in the banking and finance sector and independent audit firms.
  4. Thanks to their ability to follow international developments and work in multicultural environments, they can work as researchers and experts in international institutions and organizations,
  5. They can work as researchers and experts in media and non-governmental organizations,
  6. With skills such as following international and national literature and project development, they can continue graduate education and pursue an academic career in Turkey and abroad,
  7. With the awareness of lifelong learning; they closely follow artistic, cultural and intellectual developments and gain the ability of academic and personal development.
Program-Specific Criteria
  1. To provide students with the skills to relate and interpret basic concepts such as state, government, politics, and administration with the concepts of democracy, justice, and citizenship through courses specific to political science and public administration, such as political institutions, public administration, political theory, and comparative politics.
  2. To equip students with the ability to define, classify, and interpret political and administrative institutions and phenomena using diplomatic, sociological, economic, legal, and historical concepts and theories through courses in closely related disciplines such as history of diplomacy, constitutional law, macro/microeconomics, sociology, and history of the revolution.
  3. To provide students with essential skills to examine and explain local, national, and international institutions and organizations, as well as organizations and relations at different scales, through comparative political methods.
  4. To equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to follow current developments regarding political and administrative systems and practices in Turkey, evaluate problems, and produce public policies oriented toward solutions.
Program Learning Outcomes
  1. Defines, classifies, and interprets the theories and concepts in the field of Political Science and Public Administration.
  2. Defines, classifies, and interprets the basic concepts and theories in the fields of international relations, law, economics, sociology and history closely related to Political Science and Public Administration.
  3. Analyzes and explains local, regional, and global political phenomena and relations.
  4. Evaluates the problems in the field of politics and administration and produces policies for solution.
  5. Classify qualitative and quantitative research methods and apply them to measure and analyze political phenomena and relations.
  6. Summarize the major actors, conditions, and dynamics in the global world and international environment.
  7. Use methods and tools to select and effectively use the resources needed to collect and analyze data on issues relevant to the field.
  8. Adapt to changes in a complex and rapidly changing global environment.
  9. Relates the national and international legal framework related to national and international activities that shape the boundaries of the field to the work in the field.
  10. Interpret the world, his/her country, society, and himself/herself, showing awareness of ethical problems, social rights, values, and responsibilities towards himself/herself and others.
  11. Benefit not only from their own discipline but also from other disciplines, and develop thinking and practice with an interdisciplinary approach.
  12. Think critically, evaluate developments and innovations in science and technology, demonstrate personal and institutional entrepreneurship skills, and develop themselves with a lifelong learning approach.
  13. To be able to share his/her views through oral, written, visual, and technological means and to be able to explain his/her point of view fluently in English.
  14. Takes individual and team responsibility, and solves problems individually and as a team leader or member.
