Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to frequently asked questions about dormitory applications, placement procedures, payments, room facilities and dormitory life.

Students who wish to register for the Student Dormitories must first complete the Online Application Form. Applications are reviewed by the Dormitory Administration.

Students whose applications are approved by the Dormitory Administration may move into their assigned rooms after completing the payment of the current deposit and applicable room fee and submitting all required documents.

Priority in room allocation is given to international students and students arriving from outside Istanbul. Students residing in Istanbul are evaluated according to the distance between their registered address and the campus.

  • Copy of identity card or passport
  • Two passport-size photographs measuring 4.5 × 6 cm
  • Criminal record certificate
  • Current student certificate
  • Personal Health Declaration Form obtained through the E-Government system

Periodic dormitory check-in and check-out dates are communicated to students through announcements made by the Dormitory Administration.

Dormitory fees may be paid using the following methods:

  • DenizBank Overdraft Account (KMH) system
  • Cash payment at a DenizBank branch
  • Credit card payment through Virtual POS

Refunds are calculated according to the student’s departure date, the period of accommodation received and the conditions specified in the Dormitory Directive.

Every room includes the following facilities:

  • Bathroom and WC
  • Under-counter refrigerator
  • Individual study desk and chair
  • Two-door wardrobe
  • Bed and reading lamp

No. Students must bring their own pillows, sheets, duvets and other bedding items when checking into their rooms. Bedding is not provided by the Dormitory Administration.

Yes. All rooms are equipped with network sockets and wireless internet access.

Dormitory buildings provide uninterrupted hot water 24 hours a day. Central heating is provided during winter.

Yes. Laundry facilities include washing machines, tumble dryers and industrial ironing tables. Detergents and other laundry products must be supplied by students.

Yes. Student kitchens include built-in hobs, sandwich toasters, microwave ovens and extractor hoods. Kitchens are available to dormitory residents in accordance with the Dormitory Directive.

Common areas are cleaned regularly throughout the day. Student rooms are cleaned periodically according to a schedule determined by the Dormitory Administration.

Students must leave their rooms in a condition suitable for cleaning on scheduled cleaning days.

In addition to security personnel working 24 hours a day, the dormitories are equipped with indoor and outdoor security cameras, fire detectors and electronic door systems.

Drawing rooms, study areas and computers are available to support students’ academic lives.

TV rooms, a restaurant, food and beverage vending machines, a games room, fitness centre and music room are available to support students’ social lives.

In accordance with the Dormitory Directive, students may host their guests in the common lounges between 09:00 and 23:00.
