Program Quality Criteria

The educational standards of our department are shaped around the following criteria, based on national and international quality assurance principles.

Program Teaching Objectives
  1. To prepare our students for their academic and professional careers by providing them with analytical and critical thinking skills, in addition to a solid foundation in economic theory and quantitative data analysis experience.
  2. To conduct and disseminate scientific studies that aim to understand economic processes, market dynamics, and institutional structures, thereby enriching the field through the collaboration of academic staff and students.
  3. To provide beneficial services to science and society in line with the goals of the global economy, sustainable development, and social welfare through academic events and educational programs supported by international collaborations.
Program Specific Criteria
  1. To have knowledge about the core areas of the economics discipline.
  2. To have knowledge about the historical development of economic thought and economic analysis; the fundamental methodological and theoretical issues related to the analysis of economic life, the adopted perspectives, and the basic concepts.
  3. To comprehend the functioning of economic processes, market relations, and institutional structures.
  4. The methodological design and implementation of research projects that will form the basis for developing original economic policy strategies, and the analysis of the data obtained in this process using appropriate econometric and analytical methods.
Program Learning Outcomes
  1. Interprets and makes use of the existing theories and concepts in the field of economics (microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, international finance, public policy, statistics, econometrics, etc.).
  2. Identifies the risks in the world economy and decides in a way that manages these risks.
  3. Evaluates the developments in the world economy, identifies and analyzes the problems.
  4. Develops efficient economic policies that relates the economic theory to the real world and decides in a way that supports public and private sector.
  5. Finds innovative solutions for economic problems and supports the improvement of economic performance.
  6. Make use of commonly used softwares and applications in the field of economics.
  7. Outlines the major global actors, conditions, and dynamics in the globalized world and international milieu.
  8. Makes use of methods and tools required to effectively collect and analyze data.
