1. What is CO-OP and why is it important?  

CO-OP is an educational model that allows students to gain full-time work experience alongside their academic education. It enables you to gain industry experience before graduation, expand your professional network, and start your career better equipped. 

2. Who can apply for the CO-OP program? 

All undergraduate students who are at least in their third year and have completed their fourth semester. 

Students with mandatory internships can integrate their internships with CO-OP. 

Students without mandatory internships can apply directly. 

Students who have completed their mandatory internship can also apply for a CO-OP internship.

3. How many ECTS credits is the CO-OP course worth?

The CO-OP course can be worth between 5 and 15 ECTS credits, as determined by the University Senate. Each faculty determines and announces the appropriate ECTS credit value for its students. 

4. Can I find my own internship placement? 

Yes. Students can find their own internship placement or benefit from the guidance of the CO-OP Unit. If the workplace you find yourself is deemed suitable by the CO-OP Unit, a protocol is signed and the process begins.

5. How does the application process for CO-OP work? 

Applications are submitted online via the CO-OP website and unit.

If you have found your own workplace, you must contact the CO-OP Unit at the beginning of the semester to obtain approval.

Students who cannot find a workplace can apply to the companies announced by the CO-OP Unit, and a suitable match will be made. 

6. How long does CO-OP last? 

The program covers a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 17 weeks of full-time work. It usually lasts 14 weeks. 

7. How are insurance procedures handled during the CO-OP process? 

CO-OP students' insurance payments are covered by the university.  

8. How is performance evaluated in CO-OP? 

The student's grade is determined by: 

Workplace performance evaluation (50%) 

CO-OP advisor's evaluation (50%). Your grade is entered into the system after approval by your faculty. 

9. Will I be exempt from elective courses when I take the CO-OP course? 

Yes. Your faculty determines and announces which elective course(s) the CO-OP course will replace. This reduces your elective course load. 

10. When are the application deadlines?  

Applications will be announced throughout the Spring Semester and Fall Semester and communicated through the announcement channels.
