The educational standards of our department are structured within the framework of the following criteria, based on national and international quality assurance principles.

- To contribute to the development of democracy and peace at national, regional, and global levels.
- To train national, regional, and global leaders with strong intellectual backgrounds in the field of International Relations.
- To conduct academic research that contributes to the advancement of the International Relations discipline.

Program-Specific Criteria
- To provide knowledge on diplomacy and Turkish history in international relations to enable understanding of state-to-state relations in the international system and interpreting current events theoretically.
- To provide the ability to explain current issues in international relations based on underlying theories and to make predictions regarding future scenarios.
- To provide sufficient knowledge of the principles of international and domestic law, as well as an understanding of the role of international organizations in legal processes, to comprehend and propose solutions to regional conflicts, inter-state issues, or state-society and inter-society conflicts.
- To provide the capability to analyze regional issues by understanding intra-regional dynamics—including the culture, geopolitical significance, and history of the regional society—in order to evaluate power dynamics in the international system.
- To develop the skills to read the relationship between economics, politics, and diplomacy in order to understand a globalizing world and analyze the impact of domestic political elements on foreign policy and international relations.

- Makes inferences regarding current and historical issues in international relations through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Comprehensively analyzes the state, political processes, political systems, and the relationships among international actors.
- Participates competently and responsibly in public institutions, private organizations, and non-governmental organizations, managing them and directing their work processes effectively.
- Summarizes key actors, conditions, and dynamics in a globalized world and international environment.
