Issues to be considered in determining the apprenticeship place for Community Pharmacy Practices:

  • All apprentices must comply with the provisions of the school's apprenticeship directive.
  • The pharmacist of the pharmacy where the apprenticeship will be held must have at least 5 years of community pharmacist experience.
  • The pharmacy where the apprenticeship will be held must have agreement with the SGK.
  • The pharmacist responsible for the pharmacy where the apprenticeship will be carried out and the apprentice must not be relatives. (Must NOT be a parent of the apprentee)
  • If your pharmacy is closed on Saturdays, you must extend your apprenticeship period by an equal number of days to make up for the closure.
  • Teachers take the initiative to invite students to school for the graduation project. As a result, if the student wishes to do an apprenticeship in a different city, he or she must first reach an agreement with the project teacher.
  • It is mandatory to comply with attendance and institution working hours in all apprenticeships.

Issues to be considered in determining the apprenticeship place for Hospital Pharmacy Practices:

  • All trainee students must adhere to the apprenticeship guidelines established by the school and hospital.
  • A separate set of documents should be prepared for each apprenticeship. An updated document and notebook can be found on the school website.
  • The hospital where the apprenticeship will take place must be a healthcare institution with inpatient and a pharmacy managed by at least one pharmacist. 35 working days for PHAR588 and 25 working days for PHAR598 (7+5 weeks) are required.
  • The apprenticeship duration excludes Saturdays and public holidays. If any such days occur during the training period, the end date must be extended to ensure the full required number of days is completed.
  • Apprenticeship practice cannot be used to avoid engaging in educational activities.
  • Teachers take the initiative to invite students to school for the graduation project. As a result, if the student wishes to do an apprenticeship in a different city, he or she must first reach an agreement with the project teacher.
  • You must adhere to attendance and institution working hours.
  • Prior to starting your hospital apprenticeship, you must obtain a Basic Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/İSG) Training Certificate and a formal health report. You are also responsible for fulfilling any additional requirements specified by the hospital. As PHAR 588 and PHAR 598 are classified as elective apprenticeships, the Faculty of Pharmacy does not facilitate hospital placements or manage institutional quotas. Students are solely responsible for the coordination of their apprenticeship process and for meeting all entry requirements mandated by the host facility.
  • Furthermore, it is the student’s obligation to independently secure the Basic Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/İSG) Training Certificate and any necessary medical clearances. The university bears no responsibility for providing these certifications or for any additional documentation requested by specific hospitals.
