ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE FACULTY EXAMINATION PROCEDURE RULES

Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Examination Rules

(1) Exams conducted in accordance with the following rules will be evaluated and considered valid.

(2) In the examination hall, behavior will be in accordance with the rules determined and announced in this guideline. The examination hall supervisor may make any necessary arrangements regarding the seating of students in the examination hall to ensure the smooth running of the exam. Other warnings and instructions given by the examination hall supervisors must be followed.

(3) Exams are held at the time and in the examination room specified in the announced schedule. Any necessary changes will be announced prior to the exam. Instructors have the authority to determine which student will take the exam in which examination room, provided they inform the students prior to the exam.

(4) Students taking the same courses as those in different groups/programs may be mixed and take the exam together.

(5) In examination halls, identity checks are conducted before the exam begins. To be admitted to the exam, students must present their student ID card with the current academic year's stamp and a valid identification document to the invigilator by placing them on their assigned desk. Students who have lost their ID card may be admitted to the exam by presenting their student certificate for the relevant semester. Otherwise, the student will not be allowed to take the exam.

(6) Students are allowed to bring pens, erasers, and other writing aids, as well as calculators authorized by the instructor, into the examination room.

(7) Students are required to bring the necessary writing, drawing, and other materials for the exam, depending on the type of exam; exchanging missing materials is not permitted in the exam environment.

(8) Students are responsible for checking their desks/chairs and any materials left behind in the classroom that have been previously marked or written on them. Students are responsible for any materials found on or near their desks/chairs that are copies of other materials previously marked on the classroom equipment.

(9) Unless provided as part of the exam papers depending on the nature of the exam, it is not permitted to keep additional paper on the exam desk/chair for scratch paper or similar purposes; otherwise, this behavior will be considered an attempt to cheat.

(10) Exam questions or given answers may not be written on a piece of paper and taken out of the examination room. Any action taken for this purpose will be considered an attempt at cheating.

(11) Students must be in the examination room at least ten (10) minutes before the start time of the exam in order not to disrupt the exam flow. Students who arrive within the first twenty (20) minutes of the announced official start time of the exam will be admitted. No extra time will be given to late students. Students will not be allowed to leave the examination room within the first twenty (20) minutes, even if they have completed their exams.

(12) Students are responsible for filling in the relevant fields on the question paper/booklet and answer sheets, such as identification information and question booklet type. Answer sheets with incomplete information fields or those that cannot be clearly identified will not be evaluated.

(13) Students must answer the questions using legible and understandable language and handwriting. Otherwise, their exam papers will not be evaluated or graded.

(14) Exam durations are indicated in minutes on the exam papers. The exam time begins with the announcement by the invigilator. The start and end times of the exams are determined by the times written on the board and the clock kept by the invigilator.

(15) Any communication between students, whether verbal, written, or through gestures, is prohibited during the exam.

(16) Mobile phones must be completely switched off during the exam. Actions such as putting the phone on silent mode or airplane mode will be considered a direct attempt at cheating, and a report will be filed against the student, initiating a disciplinary investigation. The exam grade will be entered as "0".

(17) Mobile phones are strictly prohibited from being used as calculators. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited from being used as watches or for keeping track of time. The remaining exam time can be determined using a clock in the exam room, if available; otherwise, the exam proctor can be asked.

(18) The use of smartwatches is prohibited during the exam. Students who arrive at the exam wearing a smartwatch must remove it from the examination room. Otherwise, it will be considered an attempt to cheat.

(19) During an exam, using a source other than those permitted by the instructor (lecture notes, books, etc.), looking at another student's exam paper, showing one's exam paper to another student, and exchanging any information in writing or orally with another student, and similar actions are considered cheating. These actions are recorded in the Exam Cheating Report by the invigilator. Exams of those who cheat or violate exam rules will be invalidated, and disciplinary action will be taken against them.

(29) Students who engage in behavior deemed to be cheating are instructed to immediately hand in their papers to the invigilator(s), who then prepare a report summarizing how the cheating occurred. The report includes evidence and any other specific circumstances. A disciplinary investigation is initiated against the student involved in the cheating.

(30) Students who leave the examination room for any reason will not be allowed to retake the exam.

(31) Exam supervisors have the right to not allow anyone to leave the room during the last ten (10) minutes of the exam.

(32) Students may not take the exam in a room other than the one announced.

(33) Students taking the exam are responsible for completing and signing the attendance sheet and the relevant sections on the answer sheet, and for submitting all exam papers completely. If any of these sections are missing, the exam will be considered invalid.
