Last farewell to Altınbaş University founder Ali Altınbaş
Ali Altınbaş, Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our University and Honorary Chairman of Altınbaş Holding, was sent off to his last journey on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 with a funeral ceremony attended by his family and loved ones.
The funeral prayer was held at Zincirlikuyu Mosque following the afternoon prayer for Ali Altınbaş, who passed away due to the illness he had been treated for a long time. The ceremony was attended by his family, relatives and many names from the business and academic world. Family members, including our Chairman of the Board of Trustees İmam Altınbaş, accepted condolences at the ceremony, and Altınbaş's body was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the funeral prayer.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Büyükçekmece District Governor Ali İkram Tuna, Okan University Honorary President Bekir Okan, businessman Abdurrahim Albayrak, Presidential Advisor Çağrı Erhan and many other prominent figures from the world of business, politics and education attended the funeral ceremony.
Born in 1956 in the Araban district of Gaziantep, Ali Altınbaş started his education career as a volunteer teacher and was known for his contributions to education and social development as well as his success in the business world. Founded in 2008, Altınbaş played a pioneering role in the realization of Altınbaş University and played an important role in the university becoming an internationally recognized educational institution by serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Ali Altınbaş, who gained the appreciation of wide circles with his contributions to higher education, saw education as a social responsibility and hoped for the future of thousands of students.
Altınbaş University community and all his loved ones sent their esteemed founder to his eternal journey with great sadness and tears.
