Bakırköy CampusBasic Concepts and Principles of Nursing Course Hosts “Professional Perception and Human-Centered Care” Event
As part of the Basic Concepts and Principles of Nursing course conducted by the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Altınbaş University, a presentation titled “Perception of the Profession” was delivered by Esra Bayrak, Deputy Director of Patient Care and Nursing Services at Anadolu Health Center, on November 11, 2025. The presentation addressed the social perception of the nursing profession, professional identity development, and the importance of professional stance; students had the opportunity to deepen their awareness of their profession and gain a professional perspective.
In the second session, Arzu Ataş, Head Nurse of the Adult Hematology Department at Anadolu Health Center, gave a presentation titled “Human-Centered Care Practices.” This presentation emphasized that care is not only a clinical process but also requires a holistic and ethically based approach that focuses on the individual. Supported by examples from clinical experience, the presentation was followed with interest by the students.
The event provided an important learning experience for nursing students to strengthen their professional knowledge, attitudes, and values. Conducted with the contributions of expert guests in the field, this program increased our students' professional motivation and gave them a new perspective on care.
We would like to thank Specialist Nurse Esra Bayrak, Specialist Nurse Arzu Ataş, and all our academic staff who contributed to the organization for their contributions and sharing.
