Message from the Dean
Dear Students,
Altınbaş University Faculty of Applied Sciences was established pursuant to Law No. 26892, published in the Official Gazette on 31 May 2008. Since its foundation, our Faculty has closely followed the evolving needs of the business world, global transformations, and emerging professions, shaping its educational activities accordingly.
Currently, the Faculty comprises four academic departments. Having commenced its academic activities with the Departments of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Management Information Systems, the Faculty of Applied Sciences has continued its growth by incorporating the Department of Jewelry and Jewellery Design in the 2023–2024 academic year and the Department of Software Development in the 2025–2026 academic year.
As part of Altınbaş University's commitment to internationalization, our Faculty continues its efforts to enhance educational quality in line with international standards. In this context, the Department of Jewelry and Jewellery Design has been accredited by AQUIN, a German accreditation agency, while accreditation processes for our other departments are currently underway.
The curricula offered by our Faculty are meticulously designed and continuously updated by highly qualified academic staff who closely monitor developments in their respective fields. Embracing a practice-oriented educational approach, our Faculty aims to equip students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the practical skills and competencies required in professional life.
Accordingly, our Faculty is committed to educating individuals who can effectively transform theoretical knowledge into practice; who possess innovative and research-oriented mindsets; who are capable of monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting developments in their fields; who are team-oriented, ethically responsible, socially conscious, sensitive to universal values, and creative in their approaches.
Believing that sustainable quality in education, research, and administrative processes can only be achieved through the active participation of internal and external stakeholders, our Faculty places great importance on supporting the academic, social, and cultural development of its students. Through participation in seminars, conferences, congresses, workshops, and similar events organized both within and beyond the University, our students enhance their professional knowledge, strengthen their communication skills, and develop a multidimensional perspective.
Within our Faculty, where theoretical and practical education are integrated through a holistic approach, internship programs are offered through strong industry collaborations to support students in gaining professional experience. Furthermore, through the Erasmus+ Programme, our students have the opportunity to continue part of their education at partner institutions abroad, enabling them to experience different academic environments and cultures while gaining valuable international exposure.
