Undergraduate Program

The aim of the Mechanical Engineering Program at Istanbul Kemerburgaz University is to educate graduates who have the following profile:

 

1) Technical Skills:  Skilled in mechanical engineering essentials, and strong in basic knowledge in related mathematics and life sciences that can be practiced and utilized to establish necessary experience and research capability for post-graduate education, and a successful career in academia, private or governmental sectors; able to analyze manufacturing, service, and socio-economic systems, design, develop and identify the problems encountered in these systems for which in order to effectively solve those problems make decisions while taking into account the social, environmental and ethical responsibilities.

2) Communication Skills:Skilled in communicating efficiently with professionals and others, explaining problems, and providing solutions and presenting results effectively and comprehensibly.

3) Team work and leadership:Skilled to work independently, and in disciplinary/interdisciplinary teams, and able to be a group leader when it is required. 

4) Lifelong Learning and Personal Development:Ability of constantly improving their professional knowledge while continuously following the recent developments in science and technology.

Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Program at Istanbul Kemerburgaz University are equipped with the following knowledge and abilities:

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, life sciences, and engineering.
  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret the resulting data.
  3. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
  4. An ability to work independently, and in disciplinary/interdisciplinary teams, and to be a group leader when it is required
  5. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve mechanical engineering problems. In this manner, selecting and conducting the suitable analytical methods and modeling techniques 
  6. An ability to utilize information technologies and at least one programming language effectively
  7. Professional and ethical responsibility
  8. An ability to communicate effectively
  9. An ability to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  10. An ability to be aware of life-long learning and its practice
  11. A knowledge of contemporary issues and problems
  12. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice. Besides, having the modern engineering skills to design and investigate software and hardware components associated with mechanical engineering
