Undergraduate Program

The Undergraduate Management Program aims to produce graduates with leadership skills who are equipped with the following competences:

  • The ability to strategize, manage and improve the performance of the various facets of a business organization using the state-of-the-art management tools and techniques
  • The ability to diagnose business problems, design creative solutions, and develop effective strategies for action
  • The ability to adapt to change in a rapidly-evolving global environment
  • The potential for academic research and knowledge creation should one desire to continue to undertake graduate level studies

In addition to providing a world-class management education, through close interaction and collaboration between faculty, business and industry, and professional, civic and governmental organizations, our program is designed to nurture our students to become contributing members of their team, organization and society by bolstering:

  • Competence in written and oral communication in English and Turkish
  • Cultural appreciation and respect for diversity
  • A strong sense of personal integrity, professional ethics and social responsibility
  • An appreciation and motivation for the lifelong learning process and the ability to assess and improve their personal development

The Graduates of the Undergraduate Management Program should:

  • Understand the essential body of knowledge in the management discipline (functions of management, organization theory, policy and strategy, information technology and operations management, human resource management, accounting, finance, marketing, economics, and a systems approach).
  • Understand the main actors, challenges and dynamics of the global business environment.
  • Have the awareness and understanding of the legal framework that shapes the boundaries of business.
  • Be able to analyze the organizational environment, define business processes, identify relationships among system components and diagnose underlying problems.
  • Be able to conceptualize and formulate innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Be able to apply current management theories and identify and employ the appropriate management tools and techniques for developing business strategies and making business decisions in line with the organizational mission.
  • Be able to select and effectively utilize available resources to collect and analyze data, and draw appropriate conclusions from their research.
  • Be able to use common computer technologies employed in business management.
  • Understand the importance of adaptability and the need to manage change in a complex and rapidly evolving global business environment.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in writing or orally with individuals from diverse backgrounds in English and Turkish.
  • Be able to appreciate and recognize contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds, and effectively communicate and positively contribute as a team leader or member.
  • Have the awareness and understanding of the ethical standards in business management.
  • Have the awareness and understanding of active citizenship and social responsibility in business management.
  • Understand the importance of self-assessment and life-long learning in order to maintain personal and professional development.
