SPN101 SPANISH I
This course is created for students to acquire a second foreign language. They introduce themselves; talk about food and beverages; speak and write about professions, countries and nationalities; use numbers 1 to 100 and give information about month, date and time.
FRC101 French I
The course aims to make the students speak French well enough to describe and ask/answer questions in the present time about a variety of topics related to himself/herself and his/her family such as daily activities, traveling, education, and careers. In addition, it aims to make the students form short statements and ask / answer simple questions in the present, past and future (in simple and basic sentences).
FRC102 French II
The course aims to make the students speak French well enough to ask and answer questions on a variety of important topics in French and francophone culture. The main goal of the course is to make the students practise more via speaking and writing activities.
PER101 Persian I
This course is designed for students to acquire a second foreign language. Students at this level learn Persian letters with their sound spelling and kinds of letter usages which are specific for the Farsi language. As the letters from beginning is taught in order, they realize that these letters are written from right hand side which oppose to the English or Turkish. Opposite word with the form of nouns/ adjectives, articles and pronouns are taught mostly in visual ways.
PER102 Persian II
This course is designed for students to acquire a second foreign language. Vocabularies and phrases are taught with prepared pictures bolding the proposed letter which is being taught that session of the lesson. Short and simple sentences come right after learning some vocabularies explaining the sentence structure. The grammar is past tense and sentences are made with pronouns using appropriate verb form.
RUS101 Russian I
The aim of this course is to learn to write by using Cyrillic alphabet. Students salute and introduce themselves in daily life. They write and speak numbers and hours. They talk about and understand daily activities
RUS102 Russian II
The aim of this course is to get students explain and understand daily life by using a second foreign language. Students explain family members or other persons; ask for a price and give the answer; and give directions.
GER101 German I
This course is designed for students to acquire a second foreign language. Students learn basic grammar and vocabulary. They express themselves with basic phrases used in daily conversation. They introduce themselves and others and learn personal information. The learners can give information about their preferences and hobbies, and understand the information given about these topics
GER102 German II
This course is created for students to acquire a second foreign language. Students develop basic grammar and vocabulary knowledge. They give information about past time. They make comparisons about general issues. They speak slowly and understandably and understand what is being spoken. They give basic directions and gets information about directions. They make daily and weekly plans.
ARB101 Arabic I
The course goals are mainly to reflect the Arabic language, gain an elementary understanding of Arabic sentence construction and be able to apply this in spoken and written formulation of simple, everyday language. Also, the students develop a reasonable standard of pronunciation and enhance their skills in the use of sentence constructions and apply them in spoken and written formulation of simple and everyday language.
ITA101 Italian I
This first course is designed to give learners from all faculties the basic understanding of Italian Language and Culture.
The main purpose is to make them acquire the sounds of the language and the proper lexicon and basic structures in order to communicate in a simple way, mainly orally.
At the end of the first course they will acquire a basic communicative and linguistic competence: vocabulary and grammar linked to presentation and simple situations and events according to the European Common Framework for beginners.
ITA102 Italian II
This second course is designed to give learners from all faculties the elementary understanding of Italian language and culture.
The main purpose is to make them acquire the proper lexicon and structures in order to communicate in a simple way about their daily routine, their family and their own world . At the end of the course they should acquire a certain communicative and linguistic competence linked to everyday situations and events according to the European Common Framework.
